As this cold continues...
A new listing still found its way to my shop (see below). Both ears are completely plugged now even though I use MediRinse faithfully, then steam and heat treat....but at least I don't feel crummy! How could I when tomorrow is Friday?! *happy dance* I love my weekends, love being able to sleep in if I want, lounge around in my pj's, read, watch a movie or two, snuggle with my furry loved ones, doing whatever makes me happy....I just love weekends!!

Aside From All The Rain
and having a cold that's all in my sinus', today was another great day. I made a big brunch for my boys before they left, watched The Blindside (great movie by the way), played with my camera (still so much to learn) and listed a 4th item for the April Challenge.
Now I'm off to make lasagna and watch Sherlock Holmes....hate to see the weekend come to an end, but I can't complain, I had a blast with my kids!

Supporting a Good Cause

October is the National Breast Cancer Awareness month. In honor of the women and families who's lives this disease has affected, I've made this necklace! The ribbon is made of Sterling Silver, and is adorned with a petite Mystic Pink Topaz gemstone. The pendant drops from an 18" sterling silver chain. A simple necklace that packs a lot of meaning.
For each necklace sold $12 will be donated to NBCF (National Breast Cancer Foundation)-- http://www.nationalbreastcancer.org/
Your donations will be made on every Friday this month, and I will keep a running total of the amount donated in my shop announcement.
If you'd just like to simply make a donation you can visit the link above. For every $100 donation you help NBCF provide an uninsured woman with a free mammogram!
Thank you all for your support!

A New Addition
I just wanted to share a new addition to the Soledad Collection that I carry in my store. In case I haven't shared it with you before this is the story behind the collection:
Named after my beautiful filipina mother, whose name means solitude. The Soledad collection features a single gemstone necklace where the stone speaks for itself, big or small they all have beautiful attributes, as do each of us.
This necklace features a blue Chalcedony drop, wrapped in fine silver, then strung on a 16" sterling silver necklace.

When I showed my mom the collection that I named after her, she was thrilled...she glowed, which of course just thrilled me to death. It's nice that I can pay homage to her in some way. She is an extraordinary woman who would literally give you the shirt off of her back before you went without anything. She's stunningly beautiful with her raven black hair that has silvery moon kissed streaks . She's sacrificed a lot (though she wouldn't see it that way) to give her family what she lacked as a child. I'm so thankful that she's my mom, I love her more than words could ever say.

New Addition
I've made a new addition to the Soledad Collection. Named after my beautiful Filipina mother, whose name means solitude. The Soledad collection features a single gemstone necklace where the stone speaks for itself, big or small they all have beautiful attributes, as do each of us.
This necklace features an A Grade faceted Ametrine gemstone on an 18" sterling silver chain. The featured gemstone measures 10mm.
A friend of mine let me know that one of the Trinity necklaces made it into the Just Jewels Gift Guide on Etsy. I was surprised, I just listed it yesterday...and I was wondering why it was getting so many views. I'm honored that it's been included! (Second row from the top, second one in from the left)

I made another necklace to add to the Soledad Collection, the featured stone is a Rainbow Obsidian. I literally get lost in the depth of these stones! The only thing is, I'm having a heck of a time photographing the necklace to show the chatoyancy....aarrrggghhh! I'll go ahead and share one of the pics with you, but I won't list it until I can capture the beauty of the stone.

Trinity Collection
I just want to share with you some new necklaces that I've made. The Trinity Collection are necklaces that feature a union of three gems, brought together not only for their beauty but also for their complimenting colors.
This necklace features an A grade bi-colored Lemon Smoky Quartz, a smooth round Smoky Quartz and a faceted round clear Rock Quartz.

This necklace features an A Grade Ametrine briolette, Citrine teardrop, and an Amethyst marquis.

I've been having some fun fusing fine silver.....so much easier than soldering...I just love it! I drew up some designs this week that I'm going to try to create using the fusing method. I've got my fingers crossed that they will turn out :)
My birthday was fabulous, my best friend took me for a pedicure and a manicure. Oooo...the lemon sea salt was marvelous...the massaging even better...and the hot towels on a cold crisp day....need I say more?? When I arrived back home, it was so dark and quiet...SURPRISE...yelled my kids! A waterfall of confetti covered me, balloons and birthday banners everywhere. My kids gave me a mini surprise party of their own and it brought tears to my eyes, they are so thoughtful. Then off to dinner we went to meet the rest of my family and friends. It was a lovely day!!

A Valentine's Gift
Okay, I'm such a romantic at heart....I love Valentine's Day, and always have. Though I don't believe that you should wait until this day to show your romantic side...nice touch...but even nicer would be to see it everyday :)
Anyways, here's a little necklace that I made that speaks softly of true love, at least my rendition of it. ~Enjoy

Mirror, Mirror

This is just a simply sweet necklace, that is dainty and absolutely feminine. I had a dream about it last night so I had to make it today when I got off of work. It's made using a 5mm mirrored sterling silver ball and an 18" sterling silver ball chain.

Finished!

The necklace is made with fancy cut Garnets and faceted Labradorite. The reason that I made this is because while we were at the FaerieWorlds Festival this summer, my best friend saw a necklace similar to this, it was beautiful and she fell in love with it. She wanted it so badly, but refused to buy it out of guilt or something because I make jewelry. Though I told her over and over again to purchase it, that I would never make something like that (I didn't have the stones on hand, and the style isn't something that I do or make)...she still wouldn't budge. So out of my love for her, for her friendship and obvious loyalty I decided a couple of months ago that I would try to make something similar to the necklace that she fell in love with. I really struggled with my memory of it....it's not what it used to be that's for sure, but I think it's close and I hope she likes it.
This will be one of her Yule/Christmas gifts along with a matching pair of earrings. We're meeting tonight to enjoy some coffee and other such goodies. With the holiday's being so hectic we didn't have time to get together. Her basket is going to be packed full...I can't wait :)

New Additions
I just wanted to share some new creations that I added to my store today. I received some new stamps in the mail so I quickly made a pair of earrings in preparation for Valentine's Day. They're dainty and lightweight...I loved them so much I had to make myself a pair :)

I recently bought a string of the deepest blue Labradorite also known as Spectrolite. I'm not really sure what I'll do with all of them, but this necklace definitely wanted to be made. Just a simple design that allows the stone to speak for itself.

I have so many ideas rolling around in my head like all the stamped jewelry I can make, fusing fine silver, and working with PMC. I'm hoping to get everything purchased within this next week, so I can put my mind to rest. I think that's the worst part of creating....thinking of all these fabulous things you can make, then having to wait until you can buy everything you need to bring them to fruition....I better buy it soon, so I can start getting some sleep at night.

Another Autumn Necklace

Here's my newest listing I've named it MABON . The focal piece is the large Amber in a Sterling Silver leaf motif setting. Then I accented it with large Carnelian rondelles. I just love the Amber pendant!
I'm getting ready to make some more Goddess Adornment pendants and will list a few on both Etsy and ShopHandmade.com . Unfortunately I still haven't had the chance to list more items on ShopHandmade, but hopefully this weekend I'll have more items over there.

So...so...sleepy
The boys started fall baseball today so we had to get up at Odarkhundred *yawns* I ended up taking a brief nap while they practiced. Do you ever notice that while your trying to sleep, or do something important the phone never stops ringing?? Holy Crow my cell phone was ringing off the hook this morning!
I did get alot of stuff done though today, I made a few more Goddess Adorned pendants, paid bills, balanced my checkbook, relisted a couple of things, and ordered some new supplies. I'm trying to decided if I want to sell the Goddess Adorned pendants with a sterling silver chain, ribbon or some other type of cording. If I decide on the sterling silver chain then the cost will have to go up...there in lies my indecisiveness...I want to keep these pendants affordable. If I list them with ribbons, I can add sterling silver clasps and really keep the cost pretty close to what it is now. I like the idea of them listed with ribbon because I can match it to the gems on the pendant....we'll see. Maybe I'll ask for some opinions in the Etsy forum...hmm..may have to do that.
Tomorrow I'm spending the day with my parents just relaxing and possibly having a BBQ, depending on the weather. I love my parents...I am truly blessed to have these two loving people in my life. I couldn't have asked for better parents. Sure we've had our ups and downs...mostly when I was an unruly teenager though. It's funny, when I was a teen I always wished that my friends parents were mine....now...looking back, I have no idea why I wanted that. Maybe it took me being a parent to see how absolutely wonderful and truly special they really are. I think it made me appreciate everything they did for me. And between you, me and the fencepost (as my brother Jarrett would say) they really did know what they were talking about...ssshhhh...don't tell them I said that though :)
Well I'm off to bed...maybe tonight I can get my dog to sleep on the other side of the bed instead of on me :) .....wish me luck!
