Insomnia...or just a night owl?

I'm shooting for the night owl :D I've never been a morning person, I can be quite snarky in the mornings...just ask my family! I'm also not one of the moms who are up before their kids to make sure that everything is in order...life is so much more peaceful if I get up just as their getting ready to walk out the door. Enough time to give hugs and kisses and tell them that I love them and hope they have a nice day. Other than that I actually need about 15 minutes of quiet in the mornings just so I can center myself and become fully aware that I'm awake much too early! I'm thinking that I get this from my dad. He's normally in bed at 3am and up at 10am...those hours are actually perfect for me. Unfortunately (or fortunately because I'm thankful to have my job) I work the morning shift and have to be up at 7:30...so at least I can stay up until 1am safely without having to worry about falling asleep at work..hehe I don't think my boss would appreciate that.

Normally I take this time to make some jewelry, but tonight I'm looking for cultural garb to wear to the FaerieWorlds Festival ...yay...it'll be here 3 1/2 months and I can't wait!! My friend will be flying back from Minnesota and we'll stay in Eugene for about a week. If you don't know what FaerieWorlds is here's an excerpt from their website:

WHAT IS FAERIEWORLDS?

In just seven years, Faerieworlds has become the premiere mythic music festival on the West Coast. Featuring world renowned fantasy artists, Grammy-award winning musicians, spectacular performances and entertainers, an amazing arts and crafts vending village, thousands of fans from around the globe travel each year to Eugene, Oregon to experience the magic of Faerieworlds.

We believe that the revitalizing, healing and transforming spirit of faerie is alive and moving actively in our lives: faerie inspires and provokes, heals and reveals, illuminates and transcends. At Faerieworlds, we invite you to enter the Realm as your magical self and release the beautiful, magical faerie spirit that’s inside you!

Array yourself in your best faerie finery! Join us and find new friends and discover wonderful enchantments of art, music and dance. Surrender to the glamour of faerie and let your heart and spirit soar in the woodland and under the stars!

In the words of internationally acclaimed faerie artist, Brian Froud:

“To dress as a faerie, donning wings, is to actively join in the dance, to be connected to creative spirit. Graceful or ecstatic dance; the radiant, rhythmic heartbeat; friendship; music; all these move easily across the boundaries, transcending language, race, and time. Such activities extend a joyful hand across the threshold. At Faerieworlds, we ring the bells of faerie invitation. The people come. More importantly, the faeries come too.”

Come and answer the call!

Look what I got in the mail!!

I just got this necklace in the mail today! It's beautiful...the picture of this lovely corvid is so crisp and clear. I purchased this from Amandajo on Etsy and will definitely be purchasing more from her. I'm actually going to change it up a bit, and use the corvid charm as a charm on a bracelet. I'm making one for myself and will buy another one soon to make for my friend Kelly who's the lead singer of the band Woodland. We are both avid corvid lovers and I think she'll get a kick out of the bracelet. I just have to get a hold of her husband Lio to find out what size her wrist is. I'll give it to her at the FaerieWorlds Festival. I thought about mailing it to her, but I'd rather give her this one in person!
I also purchased this picture for Kelly, not only because of the Raven's pictured in it, but this has an amazing resemblance to her, and if you look closely, in the back ground you will see the Stonehenge (a truly magical place). This beautiful print was purchase from MeredithDillman, she's an amazing artist and I've purchased other prints by her.
Anyways, I just wanted to share with everyone some of the wonderfully talented artists and jewelry designers that can be found on Etsy.

Only four months to go! It's almost here...and I'm not even close to being ready....though I do have my fairy ears. I still need to make a crown and get my outfits together. I'm debating on wings...I've worn them every year and decided I didn't really want to this year. With all of the vendors and so many beautiful wares to purchase...wings make it difficult to go in and out of the vendors tents and maneuvering around the people shopping in them. The band line up is exceptional this year especially with it being 3 days. It really is an amazing and magical time to be had by all!

I've been trying to get into Etsy and so far have been unable to. I'm not sure if the site is down or if it's just me. I've also noticed that on my two blogs, some of my widgets aren't working...which makes me think my computer has gone all wonky on me. Definately not good, especially if you're trying to run a business. I've also got a few convo's that I need to reply to, but can't. I hope they understand. Unfortunately there isn't much I can do about it at this time.

I smashed my finger last night hammering a large piece of sterling silver...youch! I've got a nice blood blister to show for it. I really must pay more attention while I'm creating...but I had a million things going through my head and all it took was one quick glance away and "WHACK"! After that I moved onto a different project...that didn't involve a hammer or tools that could cause pain :-)
